the Kiki Art Story

The Kiki Art Story is the story of an Amsterdam based artist focussing on mixed media abstract paintings, inspired by natural lines and a natural color palette.

About me

From a young age, I have always been captivated by the beauty and intricacies of the creative arts. Born and raised in Utrecht, the Netherlands, the fascination with painting, drawing and other ways of being creative (interior, photography) was present from a young age. Over the years, I have honed my skills through various courses and self-directed learning, transforming my passion into becoming a self-made artist.

When moving to the Amsterdam area, I started to create abstract paintings in my free time. I find constant inspiration in the parks and forest that surround this vibrant city. The serene landscapes surrounding the city and natural beauty both in- and outside the city provide a perfect backdrop for my creative endeavors. My vision is inspired by the elegance of feminine lines and the serene hues of nature. I am drawn to a neutral palette, which allows the subtle beauty of natural colors to shine through, and aims to create a harmonious and calming effect in my work. Whether it’s a drawing or a painting, I strive to infuse each piece with a sense of tranquility and grace.

My work often features textured art, dreamy paintings, and intricate line drawings on paper, sometimes with a splash of color to add a touch of vibrancy. As an artist, I believe in the power of creativity to transform spaces and evoke emotions.

My work is a reflection of my love for nature and relationships, and my appreciation for the delicate balance of form and color. I am passionate about visualizing the limitless beauty of imperfection, finding charm and elegance in the unique and the unexpected.

In addition to local inspirations, extensive traveling for work has allowed me to visit foreign museums and come into contact with a diverse range of cultures and art forms. These experiences have enriched my artistic perspective and provided a wealth of inspiration that I incorporate into my creations. At the same time, either small sketches or larger projects, my work is a highly-personal reflection of me and what I find most beautiful in the world. Even though I created primarily for myself, my work has been well received.
